How to Obtain OK-432

OK-432 was launched after its approval for cancer by the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare in 1975, and was approved by this Ministry for the additional indication of lymphatic malformation in 1995. Since then we have received numerous overseas requests for samples.

Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan are the only countries where OK-432 is approved and distributed at present. Patients (diagnosed as lymphatic malformations and who are living in other counties) who would like to obtain OK-432 are requested to make a contact to our secretarial office (ok432_at_fund-ogita.org) through your physician in charge. When the physician obtains an official authorization document, including import and use permit of OK-432 from the government, OK-432 will be supplied free of charge by the manufacturer, Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. The document is used for the official purpose of customs clearance. (As to the countries whether OK-432 has been supplied or not, please refer to the section "Countries to which OK-432 has been supplied up until now".)

For your information, the shipping cost is extremely high (over US$1,200 per shipment from Japan to the USA, even if one vial), since the vials should be kept below 10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit) and avoid freezing. Of course, we will pay all the costs including OK-432 (the Picibanil) vials themselves (US$34 per 1 KE vial), from a humanitarian viewpoint.

We insist that the Picibanil vials provided to you is used solely for treating lymphatic malformations.

We have established another system for supplying OK-432 to the USA, free of charge. The supply will be by means of a clinical trial. The trial is being conducted by Professor Richard Smith at the University of Iowa, and there are approximately 40 sites, distributed throughout the USA. When you would like to know more details of the trial, please make a contact to the following person:
